Samuel Kang

Samuel Kang has over 25 years of experience in High Tech R&D, information technology, and EV industries. Before joining Sienza, Mr. Kang was the Head of Total Solutions and Head of School Bus Divisions of BYD. Kang oversees business development for a wide range of products ranging from solar power generation to energy storage to heavy-duty electric vehicles. In addition to his role at Sienza, Mr. Kang is an adjunct professor at Azusa Pacific University and a Councilmember and former Mayor for the City of Duarte since 2013. Kang uses his depth of experience in all facets of electrification deals – technology, financing, and working with utility companies, government entities, energy management companies, and energy innovators – to bring affordable solutions to customers. Sam received his MBA and MS in Computer Science from Azusa Pacific University, BS in Chemistry from UC Irvine, and currently completing his Doctorate in Policy and Planning from USC.
